Extremaduran journalist Miriam Moreno Bañón wins the 1st National Journalism Prize of the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route
The awards ceremony will take place on June 18th at the Wine Science Museum in Almendralejo.
Extremaduran journalist Miriam Moreno Bañón has been awarded the first National Journalism Prize of the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route for her work promoting this wine tourism route on the Onda Cero Extremadura radio program “Tierra de Vinos” (Land of Wines).
This award was created to recognize the work of journalism and communications professionals who, through their work, contribute to generating awareness and visibility of the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route, a wine tourism destination located within the Ribera del Guadiana Designation of Origin (DO) and Cava DO, which is part of the Wine Routes of Spain Products Club.
“Tierra de Vinos” is a radio program dedicated to exploring the wine culture of the region. The format aims to bring wine and wine tourism closer to listeners, showcasing this product as an integral part of the region’s identity, economy, and culture.
The jury for this first edition recognized the work submitted by Miriam Moreno Bañón, a radio piece that delves into the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route through the “Tierra de Vinos” program on Onda Cero Extremadura. The program explores a destination that is a “sum of efforts,” allowing listeners to discover Extremadura and showcase its wines while enjoying an authentic experience.
This award sought to recognize the journalistic quality and informative rigor of the proposal presented, its ability to disseminate, promote, make visible and highlight the Route, the proven use of sources and the capacity for tourist, cultural and social projection of the wine tourism itinerary.
The gala presentation of the 1st National Journalism Award for the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route will take place next Thursday, June 18, at 12:00 p.m. at the Museum of Wine Sciences in Almendralejo.
More than forty establishments make up the Route, a destination that offers rest accommodation, restaurants to enjoy gastronomy, museums, wineries, themed leisure companies, gourmet shops and tourist offices to plan the destination to experience wine and discover a different and authentic Extremadura.
This action to promote and disseminate the Route is part of the Tierra de Barros-Wine Tourism Sustainability Plan, for which they have funds from the European Union through the Badajoz Provincial Council.
