Las Barandas restaurant

Las Barandas restaurant

In the heart of the Piropo Blanco de Extremadura, next to the Plaza de España or, as it is popularly known, the Paseo de las Barandas, opens the restaurant of the chef Manuel Gil and his team. A corner that borrows the name of the square and that allows itself to be invaded and infected by the surrounding textures to become a warm and welcoming extension of the friendly life that emanates from the Paseo. We have a tapas bar and terrace for an informal meal with friends, the after-work getaway or the lunch break. We also have a relevant selection of gins for that cocktail to complete the dinner in our restaurant. The dining room, more collected and with privileged views of the Parish of Our Lady of the Angels, provides the best atmosphere for dinner as a couple, family meals or celebrate with your family that news you had waited so long. Manuel Gil offers a menu of dishes with which he makes an apology for the most indigenous cuisine throughout the peninsula, ideal to be the melody that makes your visit to our house memorable. A close treatment, an author’s kitchen, a selective and wide cellar with the best wines of the D.O. Ribera del Guadiana and the Tierra de Extremadura make the Restaurant Las Barandas a unique place in the area, a different proposal for the day to day or that special night.

Specialization / Wine Tourism Activities

The cuisine of the restaurant Las Barandas, is a song to tradition and local products. Even when we have in the shopping basket a turbot or some other delicacy from the north, they are taken to the plate accompanied by the most subtle regional gestures. Extra-Virgin Olive Oil or the Iberico Extremeño, are undisputed protagonists of our menu.

Starters, rice dishes, meat, fish, desserts… all bear the seal of Manuel Gil. The aroma of his deepest and most pampered interpretation of the cuisine we grew up with, can be seen in every detail of his updated traditional recipes.

Tasting nights, pairing dinners, presentations of new wines, themed dinners around wine…

Guided tours of the winery in the wineries of the region on the Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route.
