The Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route is reinforcing its commitment to wine and cultural tourism this coming weekend. The region’s wines and cavas will be the great ambassadors of the land at two essential events where culture, monumental heritage, and excellent gastronomy come together.

1. 25th Festibarros: Tradition and the innovative “Folkcava” in Almendralejo

The Wine and Cava Route will be present at the 25th edition of Festibarros (Festival of Customs and Traditions of Tierra de Barros), which will be held in Almendralejo from Friday, July 31st to Monday, August 3rd.

The festival will feature a wide-ranging cultural program that includes parades, pottery workshops, bracelet and bookmark making, lacemaking demonstrations, and traditional dances.

The grand finale of the food and wine festival will take place on Monday, August 3rd at 12:30 pm with the “Folkcava” event. This event will offer a unique sensory experience:

• The activity: Guided tasting of 3 cavas from Almendralejo.
• The pairing: Perfect harmony between the sparkling wines of Extremadura and live folk music.
• The artists: Performances by the rondallas of the ACF Tierra de Barros and the municipal folk group “Virgen del Mar”.

2. III Coquinaria Reginensis: Haute Cuisine and History in Casas de Reina

On Monday, August 3, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route will move to an unparalleled historical setting: the Roman Theatre of Regina, in Casas de Reina.

The third edition of Coquinaria Reginensis offers a journey through time via the senses:

• The offering: Gourmet dinner featuring typical dishes from the region.
• The product: Exclusive creations made with local ingredients, certified by Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) quality seals. and PGI.
• The Creators: Menu designed and executed by renowned chefs from Extremadura.
• The Pairing: The wines and cavas of the Route will harmonize with each bite, highlighting the value of the monumental heritage and the rich winemaking tradition of Extremadura.
