Harmony at Solocabra

Immerse yourself in shepherding and cheese-making culture, paired with a good wine!

It’s no secret that wine with cheese tastes like a kiss. But that’s exactly what we invite you to experience at Finca Buenavista, in the Badajoz region of Tierra de Barros, known for its renowned wines, where Quesería Solocabra is located. This family business pays tribute to the humble shepherd who, generation after generation, has passed down the art of crafting artisanal cheeses with the same traditional methods taught by their ancestors.

The experience begins with a visit to the vineyard surrounding the estate, where you’ll learn about the different grape varieties, both native and foreign.

At the cheese factory, you’ll have the unique opportunity to feel like a shepherd-cheesemaker for a few hours.

The experience culminates with a wine and cheese pairing of the most special cheeses from the farm with wines from the Ribera del Guadiana, allowing you to judge the quality and character for yourself and savor the delights created by the skilled cheesemakers and winemakers of this generous land.

Price Includes:

  • Guided tour of the vineyard surrounding the estate
  • Guided tour of the goat farm to learn about breeding, care, and milk production
  • Guided tour of the cheese factory
  • Tasting – pairing of a selection of 3 wines from Extremadura with Solocabra cheeses (for children, paired with grape juice or other beverages)
  • Optional: Workshop for making artisanal goat cheese
