The Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route supports the educational project “There Are Other Worlds, but They Are in This One”

The Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route has supported the presentation of the educational project “There Are Other Worlds, but They Are in This One,” an initiative created by teachers José María Méndez and Pilar Triviño that includes the publication of a book of short stories and illustrations, as well as an exhibition intended to serve as a teaching resource for classrooms.

The presentation, led by Carlos Sagüillo, took place this past Monday, June 22, at the San Antonio Cultural Center in Almendralejo, a venue that will host an exhibition of the illustrations created by Pilar Triviño for the publication until June 29.

The authors of this self-managed educational project participated in the event. It was created with the aim of becoming both a teaching resource for classrooms and a work of universal outreach, ideal for adolescent and adult readers.

The book contains a collection of 175 short stories that captivate readers with accounts based on real events and curious anecdotes covering a wide range of subjects, including science, history, cinema, art, and literature.

This is an interdisciplinary project, a joint proposal that reflects the expertise of two educators: José María Méndez, a Mathematics teacher and author of the text; and Pilar Triviño, a Drawing teacher and creator of the 183 illustrations that enrich the volume.

The initiative is complemented by a website that includes practical exercises linked to each story, designed to cover the 175 days of the school calendar. It is a proposal intended to grow through contributions from other teachers specializing in different subjects.

The project presentation was also attended by Almendralejo City Council’s Councillor for Culture, Isabel Ballesteros, among other authorities.
