The Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route showcases another way to discover Extremadura at the Salón Gourmets in Madrid
This wine tourism itinerary is part of the Sustainable Gastronomic Routes of Extremadura
The Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route is showcasing these days at the 39th Salón Gourmets in Madrid, Europe’s leading high-quality food and beverage fair, another way to discover Extremadura through quality experiences linked to wine tourism.
This itinerary is part of the Sustainable Gastronomic Routes of Extremadura along with the Iberian Route Dehesa de Extremadura, the Extremadura Cheese Route, and the Extremadura Olive Oil Route—four routes that propose enjoying these representative products of the region to get to know it in a different way, with a food product as the common thread that connects to the understanding of Extremadura’s culture, heritage, and nature.
The Sustainable Gastronomic Routes of Extremadura are structured as product clubs that bring together companies of various kinds. Forty establishments are part of the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route, a wine tourism itinerary offering accommodations for rest, restaurants to enjoy gastronomy, wineries, themed leisure companies, gourmet shops, and tourism and cultural offices.
In 2013, the Route was certified as a Product Club belonging to the Wine Routes of Spain and is framed within the territory of the Ribera del Guadiana Designation of Origin (DO) and DO Cava.
From April 13 to 16, the Route proposes at the Salón Gourmets in Madrid a different way to discover the region at the Extremadura Avante stand, alongside Tourism Extremadura and with the collaboration of the Association of Regulatory Councils of Extremadura (ACREX).
The Salón Gourmets has established itself as a key meeting point for professionals in the gastronomic sector—an event that last year was visited by more than 117,000 professionals, featured more than 2,000 exhibitors, and recorded a business volume of more than 300 million euros.
