Pago de las Encomiendas
Bodega las Encomiendas is a family business with its own vineyards located in the heart of Tierra de Barros where wines of the highest quality and uniqueness are produced, always respecting the vineyards, the natural environment and society. Bodega las Encomiendas was founded in 2007 after several generations dedicated to the development of the family vineyards.
The winery’s national benchmark production techniques include night-time harvesting, which aims to produce a natural product without alterations, the selection of the best grapes, totally controlled production for aromatic intensity, …and above all its revolutionary ‘direct gravity’ production system, one of the few in Spain to use this system, which seeks, above all, to avoid unnecessary movements that alter the natural state of the grapes. The ageing in new French oak wood gives the wines unique nuances.

The Pago de las Encomiendas winery is joined by the new Biodynamic Ageing Interpretive Winery, a unique facility in Spain and abroad for its interpretative content, spatial layout and biodynamic ageing and winemaking process.
If we add that it is the only winery in Spain with its own aerodrome and that it has a Hotel in the magical surroundings of its vineyards, where you can walk, ride on horseback, feel the most authentic vineyard from a bird’s eye view, a visit to Pago de las Encomiendas is a memorable visit.
